Feb 6/19 Richmond School District 38 Skilled Trade Exploration Spring 2019 STEP Program
carpenter.pngExplore a skilled trade for one week this spring through a partnership with the Richmond School Board Works Yard and the SD38 Career Programs Office. Students must have an interest in the trades and will be applying to work for one 4-day week alongside SD38 maintenance yard staff. Students may choose from plumber, carpenter, electrician or HVAC.  Information and application forms are available from the SD38 District Career Programs Website and in the counselling area.  

(Completed application forms need to be submitted into the Career Programs 3rd Floor at the School Board Office at 7811 Granville Avenue Richmond by 3:30 pm)

Mar 6/19 Youth Train in Trades Workshops (Plumbing or Professional Cook)
The Career Programs Office is offering the 'Education in Action' series in 2018/2019. 
Experience a morning in the SD38 'Youth Train in Trades' Professional Cook Program or the Plumbing Program. hvac.pngAcquire practical hands-on skills. These workshops are open to Grade 8 - 12 students. Limited seats available. Feb 27/19 VCC Try a Trade - 10:00 am - 1 pm
Students in grades 9 - 12 are invited to VCC’s Broadway campus for a morning of hands-on learning. Explore careers in Transportation Trades, Technology, Design, Hospitality, and Hair and Esthetics, while being led through activities and projects.

Interested applicants for Police Officer or Special Municipal Constable positions are invited to attend an Information Session with our recruiting staff. Come hear a brief overview of policing as a career, and what is involved in the VPD’s selection process. Pre-registration for Information Sessions is not necessary.

Information Sessions are held in the auditorium of the Justice Institute of B.C. Police Academy at 10:00 a.m. sharp. The JIBC is located at 715 McBride Boulevard in New Westminster.

Feb 23/19 BC-RCMP will be partnering with other Law Enforcement agencies and hosting the sixth annual Law Enforcement Career Fair

The event will take place at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) – New Westminster Campus from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. 715 McBride Boulevard.

A number of representatives from law enforcement agencies from across BC will be on site and available to answer questions regarding their roles and responsibilities in the community, their hiring process, and any other questions future applicants may have.

The event is free and anyone interested in, or knows someone who may be interested in a career in law enforcement, is encouraged to attend the JIBC.

Duration: 5 hours

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to presentation with identification.
